This post has been a long time in the making. I wanted to make sure I properly tried out all the products I am writing about so technically this post has been in the works for three years.
I am an eyeliner addict. I started wearing khol eyeliner at about the age of about sixteen and have drawn a cat eye on with liquid liner pretty much every single day for three to four years. I know right? Despite all this 'experience' I doubt I will ever find a liquid eyeliner that I will religiously purchase for the rest of my life. I thought I had but I changed what I wanted from such a product (more about this later). But anyway, today I have chosen to feature three separate eyeliners, from three different brands, of similar prices and talk in detail about them so if you are looking for a liquid liner or are simply curious I hope this post will be of somewhat help. All the eyeliners I am going to talk about are drugstore, I have never owned any high end ones nor do I see the need to. Plus who doesn't love boots points? Hehe.
The first eyeliner I would like to feature is the Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner Pen in Carbon Black Extreme, (£6.00 Boots).
This eyeliner is a firm favorite of mine. After using the Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner for a good few years and getting the hang of how to use liquid eyeliner, (I could not reccomend this product enough for someone who is first learning how to use eyeliner) I decided to try something which would give a more sharp and longer eye look. This is exactly what the Soap and Glory supercat eyeliner pen is. It stays put all day with no budge, even on the hottest and more humid days of the year even without primer, and gives a beautiful crisp line. I have repurchased this product about four times over three years so it does last for a long time and I was addicted to this product. However, earlier this year I decided I wanted a subtler and finer eyeliner look. This is the only downside to the
Soap and Glory supercat eyeliner pen in my opinion, the finished line is quite thick even if you try to use the very tip. But all that aside, if you are looking for an eyeliner that will take you a few seconds every day to get a thick-ish line then Soap and Glory supercat eyeliner pen is perfect for you.
In searches for a thinner eyeliner I decided to try the Rimmel Glam Eyes Liquid Eye Liner, (£5.29 Boots).
I have been using this eyeliner everyday for the past three/four months. I do like this formulation, it is very crisp and does stay put all day without any bleed. However, although the brush is thin and does give a thin line, it does tend to give a wonky line and is a pain to do a cat eye flick with. These falts are probably because the applicator for the Soap and Glory supercat eyeliner pen is so easy to use but there is only so many times I can try to dab off the small dots of eyeliner that has got caught in my eyelashes and has brushed onto my eye lid. If you can manage the brush applicator product better than me by getting just the right amount of product then I am sure you will love it.
The final eyeliner I am going to feature is the L'Oreal Superliner Ultra Precision, (£6.49 Superdrug).
First off can I just say the packaging to this product is beautiful and matches my all time favourite lipstick, always a bonus. The applicator is a sponge that has a ball to allow for no clumpy product to be used. This works in its favor (as long as you remember to shake before use). This eyeliner is so beautiful. It applies really easily with no transfer to your eyelashes that I found was the main problem with the Rimmel one. Most importantly for me you can make it as thin or thick as you want and it lasts all day without any smudging or fading! Yay finally haha!
Hope you are all well. Do you care this much about eyeliner or am I completely crazy? What is your favorite eyeliner?
