Autumnal beauty tones

So, I have finally got round to writing my first exclusively autumnal post, and a new beauty post. Phew! And what better place to start than with the colour of the season, or should I say colours. As soon as the weather changes so does everyones colours of choice, and in this post I am going to share you a few of my favourite autumnal-toned products, mostly lips (that must say alot) at all different levels of the berry/plum-ness scale. 

Self-imposed pressure

So I sit here in front of my mac attempting to write a blog post for the first time in nine weeks as we have only just got wifi wondering; what to write, what pictures to include, how to start my 2016 blogging style off, and then out of pretty much nowhere a topic came to me. That ridiculous pressure I felt to get this post 'perfect', was exactly that, ridiculous.

Travel: Bruges

I'm kinda doing my travel posts backwards because I went to New York in May and Bruges in June, but in order to sort all my pictures out for New York I need to order a wire to connect my camera (I know right) so I'm going to jump in and write about Bruges instead.

On the 17th June me and my boyfriend went into London and caught the Eurostar to Brussels and caught a train on to Bruges. On a whole this journey was long (about four hours in total) but not too inconvenient. Unlike flying you only have to be at St Pancras only half an hour to forty five minutes before your departure time, so you waste less time 'hanging around'. The Eurostar train itself is average and very outdated (in my opinion) they could use some modernisation, but it is comfy none-the-less. Once we had arrived at the station in Bruges we caught a taxi to our hotel, this cost about €10 and took about five minutes.

We stayed at the Hotel Ter Brughe which is a central hotel meaning it was only about a 10 minute walk to the market square. Breakfast included (of which we only made twice) with free toiletries, a view of the canal and was nicely decorated. It also had all the original features like beams and coloured windows. I would honestly recommend this hotel, you get a lot for the price. The only downside for me was we were on the third floor (I had a broken foot haha) and the check out time is a little early especially if your train is later that day. Therefore we lugged our suitcases around before walking to the station, which we made in about twenty minutes.

Furthermore, it is by a canal only adding to the romantic feeling you get with this hotel.

Bruges itself is beautiful, with iconic gothic architecture and cobbled streets. We went for five nights and took a more relaxed approach to the city, but if you are big on sightseeing there will be more than enough to satisfy you (I will compile my top 5 things to do in Bruges in a separate post). In our five days we went to the chocolate museum, the Salvador Dali exhibition and the beer museum (to name a few) without feeling that we were rushing or had no time to simply relax.

I would love to go back to Bruges again (especially near Christmas) and if you are looking to explore more of Europe I would highly recommend you check it out.
